Unfortunately (or fortunately, but I fear the former) I was overheard by a fellow shopper of a different persuasion when it came to the Mawlid and rank of the Prophet.  He approached me in a very meek way and asked quietly ‘’Brother, What is this mawlid gathering?’ He was trying his utmost to appear all innocent and intrigued but the harder he tried the more he made me cringe. It was obvious his motives were anything but innocent and I’m sure every simple and true Muslim has at some time faced these inquisitions from such self assuming ‘guardians of the Sunna’.  This type of questioning, when it’s not for seeking information but for causing mischief and discord, happens to be an ancient practice of this creed and a legacy passed down from their ideological forefathers;  the Ahl ul Kitaab - who were also envious of the Prophet and ever trying to degrade him - would come to the Prophet and ask him spurious questions such as ‘What was his god made out of? Was it gold or pearls etc?’  These people had the Book and knew that God was not made out of physical substance and their spurious questions could only have been for mischievous ends.  Similarly these people today know too well what the Mawlid is and ask only to initiate a debate and plant doubts in the hearts of the unsuspecting and simple Muslim.  Being vigilant of their ploys I nevertheless decided to engage with him and explained that the Mawlid gathering was when followers of the Sunna expressed their joy and gratitude to Allah for the greatest gift of the Prophet, by remembering Him, discussing the Prophet’s sira and celebrating the greatness and rank bestowed upon him by Allah.

After pretending to listen to me - it was obvious he wasn’t really interested in what I was saying - he then, like a seasoned poker player playing his trump card, came onto his real question and the crux of his argument (although he was pretending he wasn’t arguing with me) ‘What I can’t understand is why the Prophet did not celebrate the Mawlid’ he said bewildered.  What was implicit in his question is the arrogance that he only does what the Prophet did and nothing else.  We often hear these people arrogantly boast ‘By God, had the Prophet celebrated the Mawlid we would be the first to do so!’ Unfortunately these people don’t know the first thing of obedience, true following means accepting without distinction and not picking and choosing.  Everyone knows these people only do what satisfies their perverted minds, if they don’t like something they immediately label it weak or even fabricated.  So basically if an act or statement of the Prophet meets their criteria of what they believe Islam should be they accept it and if it doesn’t they reject it by arrogantly and crudely claiming it a fabrication – so is this following the Prophet or following their own whims and desires whilst consoling themselves with the mask of following the Sunna.

We all know the Prophet fasted every Monday and when he was asked about it he explained it was the day in which he was born (amongst other things) so how many of these ‘followers of the Hadith’ fast on a Monday habitually like the Prophet? What now of their claim ‘By God, had the Prophet celebrated Mawlid we would be the first to do so!’ O Really!?

What is more surprising is why these self professed ‘sons of Tawhid’ restrict themselves to the Prophet, and do not look to the Sunna of Allah when it comes to the Mawlid? Do they not see how He prepared for the Mawlid? Was it a simple coincidence that the Event of the Elephant took place some 50 days before the Mawlid, even Allaama Ibn Katheer claims that it was a ‘ an announcement of the Prophet’s (impending) arrival‘.  He also made sure all the earlier Prophets and nations were aware and recognised him to such an extent that the Ahl ul Kitaab knew the very day and place of his birth.  He also ensured it was a pure and blessed birth, He protected all the Prophet’s forefathers and mothers from disbelief and pollution in both deeds and beliefs.  As for the blessings and miracles that took place on the night of the birth they are so well rehearsed that they require no repeating.

Do they think that if Allah did all this before and on the night of the Mawlid He would then cease these blessings immediately after the Mawlid took place? You don’t prepare for the arrival of an event in such a way to then immediately disregard it after its arrival? For example the Quran was revealed on Lail atul Qadr once but every Lail atul Qadr since then is blessed and will continue to be until Qiyaama so why would the blessings of the Mawlid stop after the birth?

So when both Allah and His Prophet commemorated this day in their own ways it’s time for these ‘followers of the Sunna’ to put their money where their mouth is and show us how they follow Allah and His Prophet!

Janaab Qaazi Saadiq sahib of Gulhaar Kotli have passed away http://trueislam.org.uk/?p=74 http://trueislam.org.uk/?p=74#comments Wed, 31 Dec 2008 23:32:59 +0000 Mohammed Younus Tassawuf/Sufism http://trueislam.org.uk/?p=74  The Walli of his time, the Mard e Momin, Janaab Qaazi sahib have passed on from this world to meet his Lord and True Beloved today 3 Muharram (31/12/08).  He was a walli acknowledged by both friend and foe and was the Shaykh of prominent scholars of our time such as Mufti Muhammad Ameen sahib and Munaazir e Islam Saeed Ahmad Asad sahib.  The former was also one of his three Khalifas.

The passing of a walli is a sad occassion for us but a day of reward and happiness for the departed as he attains all that he has worked for and the angels tell him to sleep like the bride sleeps and the gates  of paradise are opened for him.  The Awliyaa of Allah do not die and their faidh (benefit) will continue.

May Allah accept Qaazi sahib into his mercy and give him his rank amongst the accepted one’s and through his waseela accept and correct our deeds and matters and give us Qaazi sahib’s proximity on the day of Qiyaamah

Aameen

ps - Haaji Pir Sahib performed the Funeral prayer on 1 Jan 09.  See attached report from the Mirpur Times of Friday 2 January.  It states that Janaab Peer sahib’s funeral was attended by approximately 100,000 people and the whole of kotli shut down on Thursday which is a massive gesture from such a large town.  This shows the affect Janaab Qaazi sahib on that region.

It also states that the funeral was attended by the leading politicians, judges etc of Azad Kashmir and that many people were unable to see Janaab’s face at the end.

The Sunnahs of Jumuah http://trueislam.org.uk/?p=69 http://trueislam.org.uk/?p=69#comments Mon, 29 Oct 2007 11:13:15 +0000 Mohammed Younus Q&A Fiqh Salaah (Prayer) http://trueislam.org.uk/?p=69 Are the Sunnah before or after Jumuah proven?  There is indirect evidence for the four before but for the four or two after there is strong direct evidence.  So taking the strongest first:
Some (not all) ahadith for Four rakahs after Jumuah:
Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet (saw) said, “Whenever one of you prays Jumuah he should pray four rak’ahs after it.” (muslim)
Some narrations say he prayed two rakahs; Ibn ‘Umar reported that the Prophet (saw)  did not pray after Jumuah until after he had gone back and would pray two rakahs in his house. (Muslim)
So 2 or 4 after Jumuah are directly proven so shouldn’t be missed.

Some ahadith indirectly proving 4 before Jumuah:
The Prophet (saw) would always pray 4 rakahs after zawaal (when the sun begins to set); some see these as being the 4 rakahs before Zuhr and that is not a problem for the 2 rakahs of Jumuah and 2 khutbahs replace the 4 Fard of Zuhr on a Friday.  But nothing replaces the sunnahs so they should be offered as normal.
Abdullah ibn as-Sa’ib reported that the Prophet (saw)  used to pray four rak’ahs when the sun began to descend before the Zuhr prayer. He said, ‘It is a time when the gates of heaven are opened and I want a righteous action to ascend for me in it.’” [Tirmidhi]
‘A’isha reported that the Prophet (saw)  did not miss the four rak’ahs before Zuhr.” (Bukhaari)
Reading four rakahs sunnahs before Zuhr everyday is a very praised act.  On Friday these would have to be before the Jumuah prayer:
Aisha reported that the Prophet (saw)  said ‘Whoever prayed 12 rakah sunnah every day Allah will build for him a house in Jannah; 4 rakahs before Zuhr and 2 after; 2 after maghrib; 2 after Isha and two before Fajar.’ (Tirmidhi; Abu Dawud; Nisai & Ibn Majah)

Eid in the UK is not Friday http://trueislam.org.uk/?p=68 http://trueislam.org.uk/?p=68#comments Thu, 11 Oct 2007 22:08:37 +0000 Mohammed Younus Uncategorized http://trueislam.org.uk/?p=68 It is scientifically impossible to sight the moon anywhere on Thursday evening thus in the absence of eye witness accounts of the moon there is no Shari basis for Eid ul Fitr to be on Friday 12 October anywhere in the world (save South America).  All Good muslims are requested to fast tomorrow and perform Eid on Saturday.  May Allah protect us from fitnas

We kindly request Regents Park Mosque or East London Mosque to publsh the names of those who saw the moon in the UK on Thursday evening.  Likewise if they rely on the Saudi statement then where are the Saudis who saw the moon - why do they remain anonymous?
